Elyse and Doug
Posted on September 25, 2013
I had so much fun with Elyse and Doug down on the mall a week ago. We got this gorgeous sunset, with the light deflected around the Lincoln Memorial, just gracing the Washington Monument in a soft glow. What a lovely night. I hope you both had a lot of fun! SO many congratulations to you both, and here’s to wishing you an amazing engagement and wedding day.

Sarah and Faiz – Washington, D.C. Wedding
Posted on September 4, 2013
Sarah and Faiz are the quintessential Washington, D.C. couple. Total overachiever’s, real do-gooders, and completely humble, approachable human beings. Like, it’s no big deal that Sarah’s gorgeous, incredibly successful, a yoga instructor, oh, and fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
Faiz and she met at the Center for American Progress…in fact, CAP’s director, John Podesta, was their officiant. The took their vows at the iconic World War 1 memorial, and held their low-key, elegant reception at U Street’s Project 4 gallery. I am honored to have been a part of their amazing day.

Stacey Vaeth Photography – DC’s Favorite Family Photographer
Posted on September 3, 2013
It’s official! Stacey Vaeth Photography has been named as DC’s “Most Awesome” Family Photographer by the Red Tricycle Most Awesome Awards. What makes this so cool is that this award came from the voting public, so it’s my clients that made this happen. Thanks to all of you for supporting this little business with your friendship, loyalty, and votes. I appreciate it more than you know!
Here’s to another fantastic fall season in the DC region. I hope you’ll join me at a local park for a spirited shoot sometime soon.
Sincerely,
Stacey

Five balloons, two grandparents, and one very done child.
Posted on August 27, 2013
I love this shot from our extended family session with Jocelyn’s parents, four nieces and nephews, and two brothers and sisters. There are a lot of August birthdays in the family, so we had a fun time playing with balloons and cupcakes down in Old Town, Alexandria. Fortunately for us, we found this gazebo just as the driving rains began. Michael gave us some great smiles throughout the session, but showed his true feelings about the morning in this shot. Which, of course, makes it one of my favorites.
Heidi and Myles, Henry and Holden. And Red. – Washington, DC Family Photographer
Posted on August 26, 2013
Red decided that he’s SICK of playing third fiddle to these two little new ones, and wanted to join in the party of our newborn session last week. Red is such a part of Heidi and Myles’s lives that he was the ring bearer at their wedding, which I photographed a few years back. I’m certain that Henry and Holden are going to have a wonderful playmate in him as they grow up. What a joy to be with this family, first at their marriage, and now with the birth of their first kids. Many congratulations Heidi and Myles!
